  • What is e-Sahamathi?

    Ans: e-Sahamathi is the consent management platform of the Government of Karnataka to manage consent of the data principals whose data will be shared with the TPSP from any data fiduciary registered under these Guidelines.

  • Ans: Data Principal is any person or citizen whose data is collected and maintained by the data fiduciary.

  • Ans: Data Fiduciary is a Government organization including departments, boards, corporations that collect and maintain data of data principal.

  • Ans: a. Data Seeker which provides services to data principal can register to become Third Party Service Provider (TPSP) on e-Sahamathi. b. Government department with data repository can register as Data Fiduciary. c. Citizen or owner of data which is available in data fiduciary can register/create account as Data Principal.

  • Ans: Data Principal’s consent is a consent given for certain time period by Data Principal to share his/her data that is collected and maintained by data fiduciary, with TPSPs which provide services such as marketing of products, sanctioning of loans, verification of records etc., to data principals.

  • Ans: A TPSP can login to e-Sahamathi and raise request for individual data principal’s data or multiple data principals’ data in bulk. Once consent of data principal is obtained, data can be accessed by TPSP.

  • Ans: A data principal can login to e-Sahamathi and go to Data Principal Dashboard where list of pending consents will be displayed. Data Principal can select the time period till when the TPSP can access or use his/her data and give consent by eSign.

  • Ans: Data principal can login to Data principal Dashboard and Revoke his/her consent against a particular TPSP by eSign.

  • Ans:Open Consent is a data principal consent given to all TPSPs or specific TPSP even before any TPSP raises request for data.

  • Ans: To give Open Consent, data principal should login, go to Open Consent page, select the data fiduciary in which his/her data is present and proceed to provide consent.

  • Ans: Service charges are applied only to companies/organizations which register as TPSP.
